In the Air Force, to be a pilot, you must be an officer. To be an officer, you must be a US citizen.

Probably the best way to be a military pilot is to go the Air Force Academy. If you go to the academy and are medically qualified you are almost guaranteed a pilot slot. As far as I understand it pilot slots are pretty competitive for ROTC.

You should start by looking into AFROTC, NROTC, or the Air Force Academy or Naval Academy. academyadmissions.com or afrotc.com for the USAF side.

You will need to be a citizen, because pilots need to have security clearences. All pilots in the USAF are officers. (Army helicopter pilots can be warrant officers though, I think)

I am 17 years old (125 lbs and 63") and I want to become a pilot for the military. Yet, I do not know where to start and to which recruiters to turn to. I also want to know if there are any requirements for becoming a pilot, such as US citizenship and if there ways one can bypass this.
