I only checked for the five services, not for the different National Guard branches, so check those out.

The good news? I believe that you can still become a civilian pilot. If flying is really what you want to do, if you have the financial ability to do so, you can get your ATC and get hired by an airline. If you want to join the military anyways, check the requirements for regular personnel. I think that you can still join, at least under certain exceptions.

Is my dream too late?

I am a Male in excellent health wanting to get into military aviation. I would love to be a pilot. However I have the following pros and cons:

Cons.

1. Age = 44 (Aug 2006)

2. Vision at 9 diopters but correctable to 20/20 (currently with contacts)

Pros.

1. College Science degree = 3.4 GPA. Do not see any issue with getting above average scores on any entrance exam.

2. Financial ability to correct vision to 20/20 either by lasik, PKK or fixed lense replacement. In fact I would use any method available to address this.

3. Financial ability to obtain FAA civilian fixed and roto wing licenses ahread of time. Can obtain up to Instructor is needed.

4. Excellent health. 6-1, 195

5. Come from a military family with high ranking contacts in the community.

6. No financial limitations that may resolve any of my CONS.

Do I have any chance of becoming an aviator? I am not really interested in becoming a fighter pilot. If fact I would prefer Helicopter but would take any pilot opportunity.

I appreciate any assistance and/or comments.
