Setting out for my A&P, suggestions? General Questions.

I live in central florida and the two closest Aviation Maintenance schools are Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) and National Aviation Academy.

Does anyone have any experience with either?

What should I look for in a maint school?

Is an A&P license recognized outside the US?

How competitive is the maintenance job market?

What should I realistically expect to make just starting out after school?

Should I just go for the A&P or should I tack on Avionics if availible?

Any help you gentelment could give would be greatly appreciated.
