I think it's something to do with helping the pilot make the right AOA when falling on a bandit's tail?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Oh one interesting thing to mention is that I've seen some fighters with canopy's painted on the underneath side of the cockpit area to fool the enemy in a dogfight.
