You must use in the following situations:
1. When you are located by enemy aircraft or SAM.
2. When you are with your package on a bombing run. Every aircraft must turn the ECM on in order to fool enemy radars.

It's simple :
Danger on(radar) - ECM on
Danger off - ECM off

Sorry for the trick question I have been playing games. I do know when and where to use the Jammer, I was interested to see what people had to say about it though.

Can anyone tell me when is the best and not the best time to use a Radar Jammer? As soon as you turn this on is it true you are broadcasting your position to enemy aircraft? If so this means that they are just waiting to fire an IR missle at your aircraft. What use is this?
