    Do I Stand A Chance

I am looking to become a helicopter pilot in the US Army. Here is my situation:

I am 23 years old, I am in good shape and health. I have my private helicopters license and 100 hours of solo flight time (Fixing to try for my Commercial when I have the money). I have taken several pre ASVAB tests and scored in the high 90's on each. My only real issue is my vision. I have had lasik preformed in both eyes 2 years ago and my left eye is perfect 20/20 the only issue is my right eye. The lasik has corrected the nearsighted aspect of it but about 10 years ago i had a detached retina and had to go in for surgery to place a slilicon band around my eye to keep my retina in place while it healed. I still have this band. The problem is that my vision even with lasik is around 20/40, slight blurring when it comes to far away letters and number but color and depth is just as good as my left eye.

What are the chances of actually becoming a helicopter pilot in the Army.

You chances are good. 20/40 is better than the average applicant believe it or not.
