This is especially hard since you have not had any real academic record since high school or college and it is set in stone.  What would be really good would just be to work very hard and earn praise and awards from your superiors and such.  Get involved in the community and log at least 75 community service hours.  This is also hard since, I think, your squadron commander has to sign a release form to allow you to apply to the academy. It is complicated if you are doing a vital job where there are not many who can do that job.  The commander may refuse to release you if the combat readiness of the unit is disrupted by your absence.  Whatever you do apply to the academy because you never know what may happen and 15 years down the road you do not want to be stuck saying "what if?".  BTW you still have to get a nomination.  Best of luck to you.
