May you cut fuel THEN only feather on PT6A-114A??

    Hi all

Is there anybody who can help me with the shutdown procedures on the PT6A-114A engine on the Cessna Caravan which is opposite to the POH?

My question:  Is there anything wrong with first CUTTING the fuel, and then only to FEATHER the prop before the engine spools down all the way? I understand some people do it in this way so save the propeller due to not picking up so many stones.

As far as I know a recommendation was given by Cessna in 1988 that the prop MUST be FEATHERED first before the fuel is CUT in order to make sure all the oil is drawn from the prop hub before the engine shuts down completely so not to damage the prop system.

Any comments from any Caravan drivers who might be doing it in this way and your reasons?

    Thanks guys. Happy landings!
